Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between loneliness and problematic online game use in early adulthood. Respondents of this study were 100 respondents who played online games with aged 18-33 years in Jakarta, Bogor, and Depok. Problematic online game use in this study from the point of view the theory of Kim and Kim (2010). The sampling technique in this study was accidental sampling. Instrument scale used to measure the problematic online game use is problematic online game use scale. While instrument scale used to measure loneliness is UCLA loneliness scale. The analysis technique used in this study is the Pearson product moment correlation. These results indicate that there is a significant correlation between loneliness and problematic online game use in early adulthood.
