Abstract

Divorce cases have been increasing significantly every year, along with the tendencies to separate; it somehow turns people into single parent. This status, single parent, probably affects these people to do such aggressive behavior especially toward children. This phenomenon occurs basically because of children can be considered as the closest yet harmless individual to their parent. The aggressive behavior of single parent, either single father or single mother, triggered by their experience of stress burden.  The purpose of this research is to look at the influence of stress towards aggression on Single mother or father. The samples in this research are single parents who is domiciled in Jakarta and Depok within 18–40 years old of age range. The technique of sampling conducted in this research is the Accidental Sampling. Data obtained using a Likert Scale from Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and The Aggression Questionnaire (TAQ). By using a Simple Linear Regression as Data Analysis Technique, the results showed that there was an influence of stress towards aggression on single parents with amount of 33,3%. There is no difference of stress level as well as aggression  level on single parent either single mother or single father.
